Marché de la Boqueria

Le Marché de Sant Josep (La Rambla, 85-89), plus connu par le nom de la Boqueria, est le marché le plus populaire et fréquenté de Barcelone et le plus grand de l'Espagne.

Il occupe une vaste zone au cœur de la Rambla (13631 m2.) entre le Palais de la Virreina et la rue Hospital.

L'origine de ce marché remonte au XIIe siècle, quand des campagnards commencent à vendre fruits et légumes sur le Pla de l'Os, plus tard, au XVIe siècle apparaissent les premiers kiosques de fleurs. Il continue à être un marché en plein air avec des espaces réservés selon le type de marchandise jusqu'à la moitié du XIXe siècle, c'est alors qu'on initie la construction du marché couvert de Sant Josep. Une restauration récemment terminée a permis de récupérer la primitive structure du marché.

Grâce à sa situation privilégiée, la Boqueria contribue à enrichir la vie de la Rambla et, en même temps, constitue un de ses principaux attraits. Il est ouvert du lundi au samedi, de 8 heures à 20 heures, on y peut trouver de la viande, des légumes, des fruits frais mais aussi bonbons et chocolats pour les gourmands.
