La Rambla

La Rambla est le nom d'une emblématique avenue d'Espagne pret de Barcelone et lieu de promenade qui commence au pied de la statue de Christophe Colon, et s'étend jusqu'à la Plaça Catalunya.
La promenade est fréquentée aussi bien le jour qu'aux petites heures de la nuit par les touristes. Elle est jalonnée de petits kiosques de presses et des bars tabac, de marchands de fleurs, d'oiseaux et d'animaux, des cafétariats, restaurants, de mimes et de commerces et des statuettes. On y trouve plusieurs immeubles d'intérêts comme le célèbre théâtre du Liceu ou des HLM.

Un seul mot d'ordre pour déambuler sur la plus populaire des avenues de Barcelone : ralentir le pas. La foule qui s'y promène impose le rythme et donne à sentir l'atmosphère tranquille de la ville. La Rambla est un lieu de prédilection pour les balades de début de soirée. Les barcelonais en profitent entre amis et en famille avant d'aller dîner sur le port ou dans la vieille ville.

Au milieu de la promenade, dans une petite rue adjacente, se tient le marché couvert de la Boqueria. La Rambla fait 1.7 km de long et 40m de large.

Les statues vivantes sont les monuments de la Rambla. Buffalo Bill, Charly Chaplin et l'homme invisible s'y disputent silencieusement les faveurs des promeneurs. Un peu plus loin, une jeune espagnole engoncée dans un immense costume rose et traînant une minuscule valise tente en riant de se fondre parmi les touristes.
La Rambla est parfaite pour une balade, pour prendre un verre ou déjeuner, il vaut mieux s'en éloigner.
